This is a weegrounding_breathk where we all might be feeling a little edgy…a little like confronting every person or situation that presents itself as different than us or different than what we believe to be true.  A good friend once reminded me that beliefs are the handcuffs of the mind. So this week let’s make an effort not to fall into the trap of judging everything based on our belief system. Just stay grounded, observe what’s going on around you and in you. Give that ‘edgyness’ a little space before you act. The situations will present themselves again and when they do, the surrounding energy may be a bit better to support your action.

So, for now, just breathe. Stay grounded. What does this mean? Simply imagine roots at the base of your spine growing deep into the earth, supporting you and holding you steady.

Then, for the rest of the week, just observe all that is happening in the world around you. The time for action will come at a later date.

Did you ever have someone tell you that you need to improve your focus? Or in meditation, someone tell you improve your on pointed focus? It’s not easy.

But then, somehow, someway you suddenly let go of all the "todo’s" and "should have’s" and there you are…sensing the feelings inside your body or simply feeling nothing.

This week, I dare you to be fully in the moment, in every moment. When you reach to turn a doorknob; your mind and body are right there, focusing on that doorknob. When you are chatting with your spouse, you put everything down, look into his/her eyes and truly listen with your mind, body and spirit. That’s one pointed-ness.

Try it and you will feel the freedom – your body will relax more, your mind will be less tense and your spirit will soar. Try it.

Every day we are bombarded with stress from all angles. Take time to get back to a place of joy. The following is a little meditation I've recorded for anyone who wants to try. Go ahead! Find a quiet space where you can close your eyes and listen for about a half hour. Are you ready to find your JOY?

Dear Friends,
This has been an amazing year – one I will not soon forget. I can honestly say I feel like I have faced some of the most difficult challenges I could ever face in the last several years. While I always knew there was light at the end of the tunnel and that I was growing in every way, that light often times seemed like a very tiny (teeny tiny) speck.

But every day, I kept moving forward.

Thanks to the support of my family (birth and chosen families), friends (around the globe; old and new) and colleagues (working with companies I love) that speck of light has turned in to a bright shining star, guiding my way.

Thank you for your support! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. All the best to you and yours in 2014!
